Jan Flapan   jan@artbyjan.net

Jan has recently focused on making art, after an active life of raising children, working and volunteering.  She is a former art teacher, copywriter and executive director of a social service agency. Besides painting and drawing, her passion is to help others become politically empowered.  While she has served on many boards over the years, her primary volunteer activity has been with the League of Women Voters.

From 2002-2006, she served on the Board of Directors of the League of Women Voters of the United States. She is a past president of the League of Women Voters of Illinois and the League of Women Voters of Chicago.

In 2008 Jan began volunteering for Executive Service Corps of Chicago, a nonprofit which uses retired executives, teachers and managers as consultants for area nonprofits and government agencies.
